Quote of the Day for Saturday, January 28, 2006

Today's quote is from Alan Alda, born on this date in 1936: "Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won't come in."

Alan Alda has said a mouthful and I totally agree. From time to time, we SHOULD revisit the facts, look at things differently, investigate from another point of view and examine all additional information. By this process, we may/may not come to a different conclusion... on ANY subject. We all have the right to change our minds. Change can be a good thing. Furthermore, I think we should applaud our politicians who take the time to go through this process and come to a decision that is contrary to their previous view of a particular subject. Unfortunately, this is not the case. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The majority of people in our country will not accept that change of mind from an elected official.
