Putin Standing Down?
My friend Vitaliy Katsenelson offers some thoughts on his blog on the implications of a headline you may have missed: Vladmir Putin says he will not stay in power past 2008.
As Vitaliy points out, Russia’s future prospects could vary widely, tied as they are not just to Putin’s hold on power but to the price of oil and gas.
