Quote of the Day for Friday, July 29, 2005
Today's quote is from Dag Hammarskjöld, born on this date in 1905: "Never look down to test the ground before taking your next step; only he who keeps his eye fixed on the far horizon will find the right road."

John, I'm thinking old Dag would have been better served had he looked down just once. Maybe he would have said something like, "I say, Mr. Pilot, old boy, the heck with that horizon! Don't you think the ground is acomin' up a lttle fast? Maybe we oughta try to keep this thing in the air a while longer". Of course, he didn't say that... and he and some other UN folks landed (nose down) about 850 miles short of the runway. His final words were, "I knew we should have flown SOUTHWEST". Look it up!

Bubba,
First, if you stop making comments in "Tidbits" I'm going to quit this blog stuff. Period. You're always good for a laugh, sometimes even a real hearty one!
Second, Dag obviously took off from DFW, not from Love Field! Let's repeal the Wright Amendment so Dag and everybody else can have better and cheaper options for flying!
